Now that you have created the first task and are familiar with the Gantt chart, it is time to create more tasks and organize them in your first project. There are multiple ways to initiate projects in iMindQ. We suggest opening the WBS chart map. To do this, please open the File menu and select the New submenu. Select WBS chart here. This operation will automatically open a mapping where the central theme will represent Project Branch, and each theme you insert will be added as a task.
1. Display and add project information
After opening the WBS mapping, you can add information to the project. Before accessing the Task Information Panel (where information can be added), please select the Display Task Information button from the Schedule ribbon. Here, you can display task information and customize display options.
From the Display Options dialog box, you can select the information to be seeded in the task and customize default values. After selecting the Display option, you can add information in various ways. Directly click on each information from the task information panel located on the right side of the workspace, draw a bar directly from the Gantt chart, or edit the information directly from the activity table. By selecting the Information button from the Plan ribbon, you will be able to view information in more detail and add prerequisite tasks and resources to the tasks.
To add a predecessor task, select the predecessor task tab from the task information dialog box, click the add button, and then select the task to add the predecessor task from here. From Dependency, In the type drop-down list, select the type of dependency relationship between tasks. After adding a prerequisite task, it will be visually represented in the WBS chart. You can also add comments to your tasks from the Task Notes button on the Plan Ribbon.
2. Project statistics and overview
In addition to organizing your project in iMindQ, you can also view project statistics and change some basic parameters to better understand the progress of your project. Therefore, we suggest that the main project function you study is projected statistics. You can access it from the Plan ribbon by selecting the Project Info button from the Project group. This will open the Project Statistics dialog box, which displays a visual representation of the entire project. Here, you can take note of the completed tasks and the tasks that need to be completed. In the "Project Statistics" dialog box, you can see the "Start Date" and "Finish Date", "Duration", "Work Hours", "Priority", and "Completion Percentage" of the entire project. In the planning function area, you can further manage your project by changing working hours or by highlighting delayed tasks with the help of the delayed task button. This operation will set all your delayed tasks to red.
